BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The 15th-ranked Western Washington University men's basketball team had six players reach double-figures in scoring to lead the Vikings to a 100-56 victory over Simon Fraser Tuesday evening in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action at Whatcom Pavilion.

Western (#15 NABC Coaches Poll, #11 D2SIDA Media Poll) won its seventh consecutive game to improve to 16-3 overall and remains atop the GNAC standings with a 10-1 league mark. Simon Fraser falls to 2-17 overall and remains winless in league play at 0-11.

"We came ready to play tonight," said head coach Tony Dominguez. "We played a frustrating game at their place, so we really came prepared to play defense tonight."

The Vikings, who entered the contest ranked 8th nationally in scoring average, reached the century mark in scoring for the seventh time this season and third consecutive game. It marks the first time since the 2005-06 season to record at least three consecutive 100-point games, and the first time to post three straight 100-point games in league play since Feb. 26-March 5, 2005.

"There's no time to have a bad trap game or a poor performance," added Dominguez. "We came in mentally prepared and hope we can carry that over to Thursday's game in Billings."

Senior guard Taylor Stafford (Chicago, IL/Evansville) recorded his 10th 20-point game of the season, leading the Vikings with 20 points on 5-for-9 shooting (2-5 3-point, 8-9 free throw). Stafford continues to lead the Vikings in scoring averaging 22.0 points per game and 24.2 points per game in GNAC play.

"We knew we owed them one from our game up there," said Stafford. "We wanted to hold them under 70 points and we did that tonight."

Sophomore center Logan Schilder (Bellingham, WA/Whatcom CC) put together another solid performance with 10 points (5-6 FG), 8 rebounds and 5 blocks in 18 minutes. Over his last two games, the 7-footer is 12-for-14 from the field, while averaging 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Brett Kingma (Mill Creek, WA/Jackson/Oregon) came off the bench to score a season-high 17 points (14 in the second half) on 6-for-11 shooting, going 5-for-7 from 3-point range.

Also scoring in double-digits for the Vikings were redshirt freshman Daulton Hommes (Lynden, WA/Lynden Christian) with 10 points and 8 rebounds, senior forward Jeffrey Parker (Richmond, CA/Salesian) with 10 points and junior forward Deandre Dickson (Easton, CA/Bakersfield College) with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

The Vikings combined to shoot 50.0% (35-70) from the field and were 12-for-26 from 3-point range. The bench combined to score 41 points in the lopsided victory that saw Western lead for 38 of the 40 minutes in the game.

Simon Fraser was led by 15 points from guard Kedar Wright and 8 points from Tyrell Lewin.

The Vikings build a 22-point halftime lead at 43-21 behind 10 points each from Stafford and Schilder. The Vikings shot 44.1% (15-34) from the field, compared to 23.5% (8-34) by Simon Fraser. The led 12-11 with 14:44 remaining, then went on a 26-4 run to build a 23-point lead at 38-15. The run included a stretch of 16 consecutive WWU points over a 7:29 stretch.

Western didn't slow down in the second half, scoring 57 points for the third-highest scoring half of the season. Kingma led the Vikings scoring 14 of his 17 points in the second half, shooting 5-for-8 from the field (4-6 3-pointers).

The Vikings will travel tomorrow for a Thursday conference game at Montana State Billings (7 pm MT/6 pm PT), beginning a three-game GNAC road trip that also includes the Alaska schools. WWU's next home game will be Feb. 9 (Western Oregon) and Feb. 11 (Concordia).
