WOU scored with 35 seconds remaining in regulation to push game to overtime

MONMOUTH, Ore. – The No. 14 nationally-ranked Western Washington University women's soccer team tied Western Oregon University 1-1 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest Thursday at WOU Soccer Field.

The Vikings went up 1-0 on an own goal by the WOU defense in the 13th minute. Defender Makenzie Burks lofted a high and curling corner kick from the right side, with the header deflection by Lilly Nowatzke shooting backwards into the net for the Western goal.

Western Oregon tied the game with just 35 seconds remaining in regulation. Erika Moreno took a free kick from about 35-yards out on the left side of the field, sending a high-arching ball into the box where Hannah Rispler headed it into the back of the net for the equalizer.
