Vikings Record 31-Point Victory Over Northwest

WWU improves to 5-1 with 96-65 victory over Northwest

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University men's basketball team recorded a 31-point victory over Northwest University Saturday evening in non-conference action on WECU Court in Carver Gym.

 

The Vikings defeated the Eagles 96-65 on Native American Heritage Night in Carver Gym with pregame and halftime programming celebrating Native American Heritage Month.

 

WWU improved to 5-1 on the season with the victory, bouncing back from Thursday's buzzer-beater 66-63 loss to Westminster. The Vikings shot 54.8-percent from the field (34-for-62) and played strong defense with seven steals and nine blocked shots.

 

Sophomore Louis Grante-Halliday led all players with 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting (4-for-7 3FG) and also had a pair of steals. Freshman Trevor White scored a career-high 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Freshman guards Grant Kepley (15 points) and Aidan Rice (14 points) also scored in double-digits. Junior forward Dajon Lott had nine points and four blocked shots.

 

Northwest was led by 13 points and seven rebounds from Tay Aubry-Thomas and 12 points by Nash Wobrock.

The Vikings (5-1) remain at home closing out a stretch of three consecutive games in Carver Gym hosting Douglas College on Tuesday (Nov. 26) with tip-off scheduled for 7 pm on WECU Court.
