BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women's soccer team clinched its conference-best 11th GNAC regular-season title with Thursday's 1-1 tie against Simon Fraser University at Harrington Field.
The No. 12 nationally ranked Vikings and Red Leafs hold the top two spots in the GNAC standings, entering the contest ranked No. 3 and No 4 in the West Region. WWU held an 8-3 advantage in total shots and the Vikings defense allowed only one shot on goal, but the game ended in a 1-1 tie in the penultimate game of the 2025 regular season for both teams.
WWU remained unbeaten in GNAC play at 10-0-3 to secure its 11th regular-season title. The Vikings have won back-to-back conference titles and claimed 10 of the last 13 regular-season trophies dating back to the 2012 season. The 11 regular-season titles breaks a tie with Seattle Pacific for most in conference history.
With under three minutes to go in the first half, sophomore Audrey Holdridge intercepted a pass and found GNAC leading scorer Morgan Manalili, who danced through a host of SFU defenders and poked it into the lower right corner for her 14th goal of the season.
The Red Leafs equalized early in the second half when Alyssa Clark blasted a shot from 30-yards out that hit the crossbar and caromed down into the goal to tie the game 1-1 at the 56:42 mark. The long-distance strike from Clark was the only statistical shot on goal for the Red Leafs. SFU nearly got another goal from distance in the 64th minute, but Kiera Scott's shot hit off the crossbar.
Morgan Manalili scored her GNAC-leading 14th goal of the season, tying for 10th-most in a single season in program history and most since Jenna Killman also tallied 14 goals in 2021…WWU is 99-7-9 all-time at Harrington Field with a 7-0-1 record in home games this season…dating back to the end of the 2023 season WWU is unbeaten over its last 27 conference games going 21-0-6.
The Vikings (12-1-5, 10-0-3 GNAC) close out the regular season Saturday hosting Central Washington for Senior Day with kickoff scheduled for 1 pm at Harrington Field. WWU's 10-player senior class will be celebrated prior to the game with the ceremony starting at 12:40 pm. The complete 2025 schedule can be viewed online via wwuvikings.com/25_WSOC.
