SEATTLE, Wash. - Shooting just 27.6 percent (16-of-58) from the field, its second lowest mark of the season, Western Washington University fell 72-56 to league-leading Seattle Pacific University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday at Royal Brougham Pavilion.
The Vikings, No.5 in the latest NCAA Division II West Region rating, dropped to 17-9 overall and 9-6 in league play with their third straight loss. They are 7-8 on the road this season, their worst record since 1992-93.

Seattle Pacific improved to 18-7 overall and 11-3 in GNAC action with its 12th win in 15 games. The Falcons, who are 13-1 at home this season (only loss was to No.4 North Dakota), have won 68 of their last 70 games at Brougham Pavilion.

Western led briefly in the first six minutes, going ahead 9-6 on a tip-in by forward Krystal Robinson (Jr., Kent/Kentridge). But Seattle Pacific scored 11 straight points for a 17-9 advantage midway through the period and led by 10, 34-24, at halftime.
The Vikings closed the margin to seven, 37-30, in the opening two minutes of the second half on 3-pointers by guards MacKenzie Flynn (So., Redmond) and Mollie Stelmack (Sr., New Westminster, B.C.). Seattle Pacific then went on a 20-4 run, Hollands scoring 11, to lead by 23, 57-34, with 11:31 to go.
Western never go closer than 20 after that, and the Falcons' biggest lead was 28, 76-48, at 1:13.
The Vikings and Seattle Pacific have won the last five GNAC titles, with Western winning in 2002 and 2006, and the Falcons taking three straight in 2003-05.
Western closes out its regular season at home Saturday (7 p.m.) against arch-rival Central Washington in a GNAC contest on Haggen Court at Sam Carver Gymnasium.
