Western scored the first five points in game five, only to have UAA battle back to tie it at 8-all. Led by Evoy, the Vikings scored seven of the last eight points to end the match.

"We had a nice run at the beginning of game five, and a nice run to end it," said Western coach Diane Flick. "We did a good job of fighting to the end, and didn't give up when we easily could have."

Evoy and Anderson also had a match-high four blocks each.

"Jaime (Anderson) really picked it up at the end of the match," Flick said. "When we really needed her in the fifth game, she was there."

In the Vikings' first game win, Lindsey Signer (R-Fr., Stanwood) had three kills during a 7-1 run that gave them a 28-23 lead. In game three, they scored four straight points for a 24-21 advantage and held on with Evoy scoring the last two points on a block and kill.

After UAA got out to a 10-1 lead in game four, Western battled back to within one, 29-28, before the Seawolves' Diane Gordon ended it with a kill, setting up game five.
