MONMOUTH, Ore. - Lisa Munyon scored twice, netting the game winner with five minutes remaining, as Western Oregon University rallied for a 3-2 victory over Western Washington University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer contest Saturday.

The Vikings fell to 7-6-0 overall and 4-4-0 in league action. All five of their losses this season have been by one goal.

Western Oregon, which has won four of its last six games after a 2-6 start, improved to 6-8-0 overall and 3-4-0 in GNAC play.

"We worked real hard, but we made two bad mistakes and they made us pay for them," said Western Washington coach Travis Connell. "We had them 2-0 and we let them back into the game."

Munyon gave the Wolves a 3-2 lead as she scored in the 85th minute off a corner kick, Becky Myrold getting the assist. Myrold also was credited with an assist on Erica Hibbard's goal in the 40th minute that tied the game at 2-2.

Western Washington took a 2-0 lead in the first half, Lindsey Cox (Sr., Redmond) scoring an unassisted goal in the 30th minute, her fourth of the season, and Amanda Font (So., Federal Way/Decatur) found the net in the 38th minute. Alyssa Kessler (So., Portland, OR/Grant) and Katie Warner (Fr., Burlington/Burlington-Edison) were each credited with assists on Font's goal.

Munyon got Western Oregon's first goal in the 38th minute on a pass from Megan Kuzmer.

Western Washington had a 12-7 edge in shots and a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Vikings entertains Northwest Nazarene University on Thursday (1 p.m.) in a GNAC counter at Civic Stadium.
