WHAT'S HAPPENING…the WWU men's basketball team returns home for the start of a four-game homestand, hosting Simon Fraser (7-7, 1-5) on Tuesday and Montana State Billings (8-6, 3-3) on Thursday in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action…the Vikings will be at home for six of their next eight games, and will play eight of their final 14 games of the regular season in Carver Gym.
THE RECORD…WWU is 9-7 overall and tied for 5
th place in the GNAC with a 3-3 conference record…after opening the season 7-2, is 2-5 over the last 7 games…4-1 in Carver Gym, 2-3 on the road and 3-3 in neutral-site games…7-2 when leading at the half and 2-5 when trailing.

HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS…the Vikings will play their next four games at home on WECU Court in Carver Gym, beginning with games Tuesday and Thursday this week…below are promotions for the upcoming home games:

A LOOK AT LAST WEEK…the Vikings earned a road split last week, falling to Northwest Nazarene 82-74 and bounced back with a 73-65 victory over in-state rival Central Washington…
Leif Anderson led the Vikings averaging 15.5 points per game, including a career-high 21 points at Northwest Nazarene…Anderson was 11-for-21 from the field (52.4%) and 7-for-15 from 3-point range (46.7%)…
Trevor Jasinsky scored in double-digits in both games averaging 14.5 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game…overall WWU shot 38.2% (52-for-136) and 35.9% from beyond the arc (23-for-64)…Viking were also 20-for-27 from the free throw line (74.1%).
BUSY BEYOND THE ARC…WWU is averaging 28 3-point field goal attempts per game and ranks 47

ABOUT WWU HOOPS…one of the premier basketball programs in NCAA Division II, WWU has recorded a 20-win season in eight of the last 10 seasons…WWU is a six-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion and has appeared in the NCAA II Elite 8 three times…the Vikings won the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship and advanced the following season to the NCAA II Final Four…posted back-to-back 20-win seasons, including a 25-6 record in 2016-17 winning the GNAC regular season title and conference championship, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Championships…the program has combined for 1,488 victories in the 117-year history for a .591 all-time winning percentage.

Tucker Eenigenburg entered the GNAC record books with his shooting performance in a 28-point effort on Nov. 24 vs. Langara College…Eenigenburg was 10-for-11 from the field and 8-for-9 from 3-point range…the 3-point performance tied the GNAC single-game record of 3-pointers made with one miss, equaling the mark set by Central Washington's Robert Hicks against Humboldt State on Jan, 6, 2006, and tied by Western Oregon's Demetrius Trammell against Fresno Pacific on Nov. 11, 2017…Tucker hit his last five 3-pointer attempts in the game, two short of the school-record seven straight by John Allen set vs. Alaska Anchorage in 2011…in 16 games this season Eenigenburg is averaging 7.2 points per game and is 29-for-57 (50.9%) from 3-point range…
among GNAC players with at least (21 players), Eenigenburg's 3FG percentage is tops in the GNAC.
INSTANT CLASSIC…WWU overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to knock off No. 19 Saint Martin's 75-68 on Saturday, Jan. 5…finished the game on a 16-2 run over the final 5 minutes, not allowing the Saints a field goal, and scored the final 10 points in the contest…
Trevor Jasinsky hit three consecutive 3-pointers over the final two minutes, the first one tying the game at 68-68, to cap his 25-point, 12-rebound double-double.
JASINSKY NAMED GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK…
Trevor Jasinsky was selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2018-19 season…the 6-7 forward out of Camas High School scored 55 points in WWU's opening two games of the 2018-19 season…he averaged 27.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game, while playing 75 of 80 minutes in the two games…also selected to the five-player CCAA/GNAC Challenge All-Tournament Team…scored a career-high 32 points in the season-opening 84-78 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills (8-15 FG, 3-7 3FG, 13-13 FT), including 10 of the Vikings final 12 points in the 6-point victory…he backed that performance up with a 23-point, 5-rebound, 8-assist effort vs. UC San Diego.
WHAT RETURNS…the Vikings feature a new-look team for 2018-19, with five letterwinners returning from last year's team that finished 21-8 overall and 16-4 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference…junior forward

Siaan Rojas were both named to the GNAC Preseason All-Conference team as unanimous selections (Rojas is out for the season with a foot injury)…Jasinsky is WWU's top returning scorer after averaging 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, while Rojas was WWU's sixth man last season, playing in all 29 games (one start), contributing 8.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game…senior co-captain guard
