WHAT'S HAPPENING…the WWU men's basketball team (11-9, 5-5 GNAC) returns to the road this week traveling down Interstate 5 for a pair of GNAC contests at Saint Martin's (16-2, 9-1) on Thursday in Lacey (7 pm) and Seattle Pacific (9-6, 6-4 GNAC) on Saturday (4 pm) in Royal Brougham Pavilion…WWU ended the first half of conference play with a 5-5 record and will play six of their final 10 regular-season games on the road.

THE RECORD…WWU is 11-9 overall and tied for 6th place in the GNAC standings with a 5-5 conference record…have split all five weeks of the conference season so far, going 2-2 on the road and 3-3 at home…after opening the season 7-2, is 4-7 over the last 11 games…6-3 in Carver Gym and 5-6 on the road (3-3 neutral)…8-3 when leading at the half and 3-6 when trailing.

LAST TIME OUT…WWU closed out a four-game homestand going 1-1 vs. the Alaska schools, opening the week with a 70-62 victory over Alaska Fairbanks and dropped a 70-63 game vs. Alaska Anchorage…Trevor Jasinsky again led the Vikings averaging 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, recording a pair of 20-point games…Tucker Eenigenburg also averaged double-digits for the week at 10.5 ppg…the Vikings overall shot 42.5% (48-for-113) and were 14-for-38 from 3-point range (36.8%).

ROAD WARRIORS…after enjoying a stretch of four consecutive home games in Carver Gym, the Vikings will now turn their attention to the road where they will play six of the next eight games away from Bellingham…will next be in action in Carver Gym Feb. 7 (Central Washington) and Feb. 9 (Northwest Nazarene), before taking back to the road to begin a four-game road trip.

BUSY BEYOND THE ARC…WWU is averaging 26.9 3-point field goal attempts per game and ranks 59th in NCAA II averaging 9.5 successful 3-point FG per game…the team has attempted 539 3-pointers (27th in NCAA II) and is nearing the top 10 in single-season program history for 3-FG attempts (record is 743 in 2015-16).

·   20-Point Trevor  Trevor Jasinsky has scored in double-digits in 19 of 20 games this season…ranks 2ndin the GNAC averaging 19.6 points per with a GNAC-best 12 20-point games.

·   Countdown to 1,000  Trevor Jasinsky has scored 893 career points in 80 games (11.2 ppg)…is 107 points shy of becoming the 26th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone for a career.

·   Double L  Luke Lovelady is averaging 10.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, both 2nd-best on the team…leads the team and ranks 2nd in the GNAC with a 64.5 FG% (78-for-121).

·   3-Point Tucker  Tucker Eenigenburg is 2nd in the GNAC shooting 48.6% (34-for-70) from 3-point range.

·   Saint Martin's » WWU defeated the then No. 19 Saints 75-68 on Jan. 5 in Carver Gym…won 5 of the last 7 meetings and leads the all-time series 134-63…won 8 of last 9 match-ups in games played in Marcus Pavilion…split the season series last season with each team winning on the road…SMU is 16-2 overall with a current 6-game winning streak and is 9-1 at the top of the GNAC standings (only loss to WWU)…Chandler Redix leads three Saints in double-figure scoring at 13.2 points per game, with Luke Chavez (dnp vs. WWU earlier this season) at 12.9 ppg and EJ Boyce at 12.2 ppg.

JASINSKY LEADING THE WAYTrevor Jasinsky leads the team and ranks 2nd in the GNAC averaging 19.6 points per game…tied for 2nd in the conference with four double-doubles…also listed amongst conference leaders in rebounding (4th, 7.4 rpg), free throw percentage (3rd, 88.6), blocked shots (11th, 0.8/game) and has played the most minutes in the GNAC (34.7/game)…in 80 career games, Jasinsky has scored 893 points (11.2 ppg), 107 shy of becoming the 26th player in WWU history to reach the 1,000-point career milestone.

20-POINT TREVORTrevor Jasinsky has recorded four consecutive games scoring at least 20 points, the longest streak by a WWU player since Taylor Stafford had a six-game streak in 2016-17…has 12 games of 20-or-more points this season to lead the GNAC.

3-POINTER CENTURY MARKTrevor Jasinsky connected on his 100th career 3-pointer vs. Chaminade on Dec. 16, becoming the 20th player in program history to hit that milestone…in 80 career games Jasinsky has made 123 3-pointers to tie for 13th-most in program history.

TUCKER FROM DOWNTOWNTucker Eenigenburg entered the GNAC record books with his shooting performance in a 28-point effort on Nov. 24 vs. Langara College…Eenigenburg was 10-for-11 from the field and 8-for-9 from 3-point range…the 3-point performance tied the GNAC single-game record of 3-pointers made with one miss, equaling the mark set by Central Washington's Robert Hicks against Humboldt State on Jan, 6, 2006, and tied by Western Oregon's Demetrius Trammell against Fresno Pacific on Nov. 11, 2017…Tucker hit his last five 3-pointer attempts in the game, two short of the school-record seven straight by John Allen set vs. Alaska Anchorage in 2011…in 20 games this season Eenigenburg is averaging 8.4 points per game and is 34-for-70 (48.6%) from 3-point range…among GNAC players with at least 25 made 3-pointers, Eenigenburg's 3FG percentage is 2nd in the GNAC.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL…WWU is 2nd in the GNAC and ranks 25th in NCAA II with a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio…dished out 310 assists (15.5 per game) and committed 223 turnovers for an 11.2 turnover per game average (2nd-fewest in the GNAC).

SHOOTING TELLS THE STORY…WWU opened the season 7-2, combining to shoot 48.0% from the field in the first 9 games (316-for-659)…over the last 11 games the Vikings are 4-7, and shooting 41.4% from the field (274-for-662), including 33.2% from 3-point range (91-for-274).

GNAC POWERHOUSE…including this season (5-5 record), the Vikings have combined for a 38-12 record in GNAC play over the last three seasons, winning the regular-season and tournament titles in 2016-17 and finishing 2nd last season…seventh-year head coach Tony Dominguez owns an 88-36 (.710) record in conference play.

COACHING STAFF…head coach Tony Dominguez is in his seventh season at the helm of the program, and 24th overall at WWU, leading the Vikings to a 144-60 record (.706)…over the last three seasons (2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19) WWU has combined for a 57-23 record and carries a streak of 11 consecutive winning seasons into the 2018-19 campaign…he is assisted by David Dunham (third season), Bob Hofstetter (6th season) and Atiavo Jude (6th season).

GNAC CHAMPIONSHIPS…WWU will serve as the host for the 2019 GNAC Championships, with the top six teams in both the men's and women's conference standings at the end of the season qualifying for the tournament that will be held March 7-9 on WECU Court in Carver Gym.

NEARING 1,500 WINS…the WWU men's basketball program is 10 wins short of 1,500 in program history, which dates back to 1903 (1,490-1,033)…11 consecutive winning seasons entering the 2018-19 season, combining to go 253-100 (.717) during this stretch dating back to the 2007-08 season.

ABOUT WWU HOOPS…one of the premier basketball programs in NCAA Division II, WWU has recorded a 20-win season in eight of the last 10 seasons…WWU is a six-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion and has appeared in the NCAA II Elite 8 three times…the Vikings won the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship and advanced the following season to the NCAA II Final Four…posted back-to-back 20-win seasons, including a 25-6 record in 2016-17 winning the GNAC regular season title and conference championship, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Championships…the program has combined for 1,490 victories in the 117-year history for a .591 all-time winning percentage.

INSTANT CLASSIC…WWU overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to knock off No. 19 Saint Martin's 75-68 on Saturday, Jan. 5…finished the game on a 16-2 run over the final 5 minutes, not allowing the Saints a field goal, and scored the final 10 points in the contest…Trevor Jasinsky hit three consecutive 3-pointers over the final two minutes, the first one tying the game at 68-68, to cap his 25-point, 12-rebound double-double.

HOME SWEET HOME…WWU is 6-3 in Carver Gym this season (3-3 in GNAC play)…owns an all-time 562-168 (.770) record in Carver Gym, with head coach Tony Dominguez leading WWU to a 61-11 (.847) mark in the on-campus facility…have four regular-season home games remaining in 2018-19: Feb. 7 vs. Central Washington, Feb. 9 vs. Northwest Nazarene, Feb. 28 vs. Western Oregon and March 2 vs. Concordia.

JASINSKY NAMED GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEKTrevor Jasinsky was selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2018-19 season…the 6-7 forward out of Camas High School scored 55 points in WWU's opening two games of the 2018-19 season…he averaged 27.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game, while playing 75 of 80 minutes in the two games…also selected to the five-player CCAA/GNAC Challenge All-Tournament Team…scored a career-high 32 points in the season-opening 84-78 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills (8-15 FG, 3-7 3FG, 13-13 FT), including 10 of the Vikings final 12 points in the 6-point victory…he backed that performance up with a 23-point, 5-rebound, 8-assist effort vs. UC San Diego.

WHAT RETURNS…the Vikings feature a new-look team for 2018-19, with five letterwinners returning from last year's team that finished 21-8 overall and 16-4 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference…junior forward Trevor Jasinsky and senior guard Siaan Rojas were both named to the GNAC Preseason All-Conference team as unanimous selections (Rojas is out for the season with a foot injury)…Jasinsky is WWU's top returning scorer after averaging 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, while Rojas was WWU's sixth man last season, playing in all 29 games (one start), contributing 8.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game…senior co-captain guard Tyler Payne appeared in 15 games as a backup point guard last season…senior 7-foot senior center Logan Schilder averaged 7.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 28 games last season, but is utilizing his redshirt season in 2018-19.

NEWCOMERS…a host of exciting newcomers dot the Vikings 15-player roster…redshirt junior guards Leif Anderson (Bellingham, WA/Sehome), Micah Winn (Los Angeles, CA/Crenshaw/Cerritos College) and Elijah Cotton-Welch (Tacoma, WA/Wilson/Lower Columbia College), junior forward KJ Bosco (Portland, OR/Benson/Portland CC), redshirt freshman guard RJ Secrest (Silverdale, WA/Central Kitsap), junior college transfer forward Cameron Retherford (Portland, OR/Benson/Portland CC), sophomore forward transfer Luke Lovelady (Tacoma, WA/Life Christian/Point Loma), true freshman forward Jalen Green (F/G, Renton, WA/Lindbergh) and junior transfer guard Tucker Eenigenburg (Bakersfield, CA/Stockdale/Bakersfield College) are all new to the program…true freshman point guard D'Angelo Minnis (Covington, WA/Kentwood) will redshirt in 2018-19 season.
