* Long-time USA Track & Field official, serving as national officer from 1988 to 2008.
* President of USATF for two terms (2000-08).
* Founder in 1972 of Seattle’s Club Northwest and in 1973 of Pacific Northwest Association of USATF.
* Elected to International Amateur Athletic Federation (now World Athletics) Cross Country Committee in
   2015. Four-time U.S. delegate to IAAF World Congress.
* Served in nearly all capacities of track and cross country, including coach, meet director, clinician, official,
  administrator and executive.
* WWU assistant track & field and cross country coach for 35 years.
* Named MarathonFoto/Road Race Management Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 2017 for
  contributions to sport of long-distance road running. 
* Founder of Northwest Runner magazine
