BRAD JACKSON
MEN’S BASKETBALL (COACH)
Coached collegiately for 37 years, 27 as head coach at Western Washington University (1985-2012), five as assistant at Seattle Pacific and (1975-1980), five as assistant at the University of Washington (2012-17).
Posted program record 518 wins at WWU.
Crowning achievement came in 2011-12 when Vikings won NCAA Division II national title with 72-65 win over Montevallo (Ala.), finishing with 31-5 record.
Named 2012 National Association of Basketball Coaches and DII Bulletin National Coach of the Year.
Directed WWU to 19 national postseason appearances, winning 2012 national title and reaching national semifinals in 2000, and 12 20-win seasons.
Ranks third among winningest collegiate men’s basketball coaches in state of Washington with 518 victories.
NCAA II West Region, Little All-Northwest and Pacific West Conference Coach of the Year in 2001, NCAA II West Region COY in 2010, NAIA District 1 COY in 1988, 1989 and 1990, Little All-Northwest COY in 1988, NAIA Pacific Northwest Region I COY in 1994 and GNAC COY in 2005 and 2009.
Served as assistant coach for West at 1992 U.S. Olympic Sports Festival and was past chair of NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee being Division II representative for five years.
Led then PAC-8 in assists as senior at Washington State where he lettered in basketball and baseball, graduating in 1974. Earned master's degree in athletic administration at Seattle Pacific in 1977.
Served eight years as high school head coach - four at Olympia High (1980-84) and one at Eastside Catholic (1984-85) - prior to coming to WWU, and later three at Sehome High (2023-26).
